St Nicks Environment Centre - Ecotherapy
I run the Discover Nature group, part of the St Nicks ecotherapy programme. We offer a safe and nurturing environment in which you can learn more about the natural world. Sessions are seasonally themed and each one provides the opportunity to participate in wildlife-based activities, including nature walks, animal surveys, and wildlife identification workshops. Each session is designed to be self-contained, so if you are joining us partway through our run, don’t worry, no catch-up will be required!
For more information about ecotherapy, including the process of self-referral, please visit the ecotherapy pages of the St Nicks website.
I run outreach events on behalf of Natural England's Lower Derwent Valley National Nature Reserve across North Yorkshire, including wildlife walks, a series of lectures in association with Scampston Hall, and open days at various venues including Hassacarr nature reserve, Bank Island and Skipwith Common. More events may follow in 2019.
Railway to Greenway Project
Railway to Greenway is a project run by York Greenways. We will explore the history, wildlife and communities of the York to Selby traffic-free path through a series of events, workshops and activities for York residents and visitors.
I am running the natural history side of of the project and will deliver wildlife-based workshops in local schools and family friendly events along the path. My aim is to encourage people to explore the green treasures on their doorstep!
