Guided walks can encompass all wildlife on offer in local environment, or be more specialised, such as concentrating on invertebrates, birds or bats.
My guided walks can be aimed at beginners and offer a safe and friendly setting in which novices can learn about wildlife. Alternatively, if you require a more complicated or specific subject area for the walk, please let me know.
I can offer a range of activities including bug hunting, identification training, and craft sessions involving the construction of minibeast homes. I have extensive experience of running activities at public events, including Wyke Beck Discovery Week, Hassacarr Nature Reserve Open Day, the Royal Entomological Society’s York Insect Festival.
If you would like to book me for a public event or have a particular nature-related activity you’d like me to run, please contact me to discuss details.
I offer training sessions for organisations want their staff or volunteers to deliver wildlife-based activities.
During training sessions include an introduction to running pond dipping events and an introduction to minibeasts safari events. My training courses include relevant biological and ecological background information, relevant health and safety information, and practical demonstrations of how to run various activities.
